A beautifully made documentary about explorations in the use and manipulation of flax fiber… pushing natural limits through technology. Two thumbs up!
The Fablab house by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC): the 2010 Solar Decathlon’s People’s Choice Awardee generates 3x more energy than it consumes.

Very happy to have been invited to join Trendwatching’s Happy Spotters network, a group of business and marketing-savvy individuals from all over the world who help trendwatching.com spot samples of trends on a local/regional level. It’s an honor to be part of one of my favorite trend resource sites.
A Korean designer crosses fashion with furniture = the Bachag Chair. Joongho Choi designed this fresh wood and aluminum chair for Boheumg Furniture as part of the 2010 iDEALGRAPHY project.
“It was designed to express structures, usability and looks of bags and to provide comfort and unity when it is sit as if one is wearing bags.”

A new edgy take on 50s “sweetness”, or a restrained feminine aggressiveness, by Miuccia Prada for Spring/Summer 2012… gotta watch out for these fashion trend leaders!

No one does organic like Zaha Hadid… Her Mobile Art Pavillion from 2007 (commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel) is still as fresh and relevant today as it was then.

Thoroughly enjoying the color stories emerging from the NY Fashion Week runways ♥♥♥ … with orange being the pucker color of choice for nearly every single designer.

I enjoyed this. It’s an interesting documentary on how pop culture ideas latch onto the pubic consciousness and become trends. A bit local (NY-specific slant) but, in an increasingly global culture, still very relevant.
